About me

I was born and raised in a small town in the South. It's the kind of town that has a little parade at Christmastime and most of the people on the floats are your friends or relatives or at the very least someone you have seen enough times that you greet them as if you actually know them. The kind of town that has festivals through the seasons named after various fruits or vegetables. The kind of town that has more pick-up trucks than cars, more tractor stores than GAPs, where the high school football games are the most popular thing to do on a Friday night during the fall. That kind of small town.

So I grew up in my small town and after graduating high school went about an hour east to spend the next 4 years in college. I didn't realize that in those first few weeks away from home I would meet a guy from an equally small place, though infinitely different from where I came from. He was from the tiny island of Bermuda.

The rest is history. I graduated a year after he did, and then we married and moved to Bermuda. I worked as a reporter for a local newspaper until our first son was born. You can read about Asher here. I became a full-time stay-at-home, homeschooling mom from there on out, taking the occasional freelance work from local publications until our second son was born.
