2012 was a big year for us. We had a newborn baby boy. We made an international move. And we bought a house.
The house had "good bones", as they say on the home networks, but it wasn't exactly, well,
us. So, after negotiating the right price, we were able to make a few (relatively) small changes inside our new house that made a HUGE difference. We refinished the hardwood floors to a darker stain, added paint to the staircase, changed interior wall colors, and changed the kitchen cabinet color from a medium toned wood to white.
We're very happy with the results. Here are a few before and after shots of our home-sweet-home in the country:

I also turned the basement into a giant playroom, the 3rd floor into a giant classroom (yay!!), and the sitting room into my
place to escape sewing room. I hope to write a post detailing these rooms later on!
