And just like that, he turned one.
Where has my tiny newborn gone? Obviously he's not here anymore. The current baby is crawling faster than lightening, pulling himself up and oh-so-close to standing on his own. He is trying to repeat words he hears, and his vocabulary currently includes "dada," "mama," "ah-choo" (sneeze sound), "up", "Ash", "all done" ("ah-duh"), and he will repeat the beginning consonant sounds of many words (like saying "fffffff" while looking up at a ceiling fan, and "buh" when looking at a book). He will not, of course, under any circumstances do any of these things when Mommy or Daddy tries to show him off to other people.
Asa sleeps all night and has been since about 8 weeks adjusted age. He takes a morning and afternoon nap. He loves his brother Asher. He is, to my delight, a Mama's Boy. He loves being held and cuddling. He has the biggest, cheesiest smile I've ever seen on a baby.
Oh, how I love this boy! To think he came into this world so sick and tiny, only to become the sweet baby he is today. I can't wait to see what the next year brings.
